All Done!!

I have finished reading my third book. I read “Touching Spirit Bear” over the SOL break. The book talks about a very mischievous boy who doesn’t listen to anyone. He is so bad that the authorities take him to an abandoned island and he is forced to stay on the island for about a year. He is very upset and ends up hurting himself while he is on the island. In the end he learns the meanings of life and like most other books it ends in a happy way.” The Kite Runner” on the other hand is a good book, I never expecting the ending to that book. I mostly read that book over the SOL period and I finished the book early. I like both “Touching Spirit Bear” and “The Kite Runner”.  Even though “The Kite Runner is more straightforward, I like both books. I am happy with my experiences in this class. I thank you for introducing “The Kite Runner” and “Trackers”. Those are two books that I will never forget. Over my time in this class I am happy with my improvement in reading. I enjoy reading more than I used to. Thanks!

Third book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Today I finished my second book and it has taught me so much. To hear someone like Carter G Woodson talk about the African American society like that was just amazing. At the end of the book he talks about the words Negro and African Americans. I am going to start my reading on my third book. I don’t know what book I am reading yet because I changed my third book choice as well. My grandfather was right about The Mis-education Of The Negro. He said that I had to read that book. He also said that the book is something special and that it would change my opinions on the world back then. I recommend that book to anyone who wants to know about what African Americans went through back then. If I compare the two worlds, before the 1970s and now, I can see tons of differences. We have an African American president now and we have made so many improvements. I will ask my grandfather for more books that he has in mind and I will make changes to my contract with the next two books that I plan on reading.

Almost done

I am almost finished with my second book. Throughout the book so far, Carter Woodson has talked about his experiences in segregated society. They include discrimination in the work place and education opportunities. The book helps me to understand how people of the African American race were treated in the late 1800s and the early 1900s. African Americans have been discriminated against for a long time. It’s a very interesting topic because many people have different opinions on it. This book gives more detail on how they were treated and what jobs they were expected to do. This book was published before blacks achieved some equality. I would love to see the opinions of Carter Woodson on the world now. I can’t wait to move on to my third book. As I have read more and more, I have been able to read a bit faster. So this class has helped me. This class has been good for me. I understand that books can be as good as movies. Even better at times!!!!!

The Miseducation of the Negro

The beginning of the book is interesting, because Woodson talks about how African Americans were taught that White Americans are superior to them in school. That is the way life was for blacks in the first half of the 1900s. Woodson talks about how if blacks acted out of character that they were put back in their place. If a black person wanted to work in New York or in a high paying job, they were told who they were and what their race was and finally that they weren’t allowed to work in that facility. He says that highly educated African Americans often become pessimistic to be a constructive force. They don’t quite know how to stick up for themselves. Woodson experienced this time after time. He is speaking from his own experiences and he is expressing them in this book. That’s why this book is interesting so far. I understand a little bit more what life was like then. As I read this book more I hope to learn more what African American life was like and realize that I’m lucky to have a great life now. Woodson says in the back that blacks need to learn to stop being dependent on other people, and learn how to be more independent with their decisions.

FINISHED MY FIRST BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have finished my first book today. I’m happy to say that I enjoyed every minute of the book. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys. It turns out that Lazlo wasn’t behind any of it. Zara was the mastermind behind everything that happened. I can’t wait to read my next book, because this book had a movie type ending. It’s like I pictured everything that happened in the book in my head. The books ending left me in suspense. The Trackers are set free to roam in the real world. Zara is behind the whole Shantorian idea. She is a criminal mastermind. All the money that was missing was put back into the bank. Lazlo is in the highly secured agent department and I hope he is set free. I hope that there is a part three to Trackers and I hope that they eventually catch Zara and ask her questions like why did she do it and what is in her mind to make her do crazy things like that. She needs to go to jail! I will move on to my next book which I have chanced from Cyborg to The Miseducation of The Negro. My grandfather said I should read itso i will give the book a chance and read that instead.

After my readings today I have found out that Shantorian never existed. It turns out that ISD leader Lazlo and accomplice Zara were distracting the Trackers. This is the climax of the story. Emily has been found, Lewis has returned and the Trackers are on their way out of the ISD. Lewis, Finn, and Emily new that Lazlo and Zara were on to something all along. The book has improved my opinion on reading. I thought that there was no such thing as reading for fun. I thought that reading was only for education purposes. I wonder what my next book will be like, because Trackers has been great so far. In the book I am reading now I can relate to what these teenagers are facing. Of course I’m not a genius, but like me they face challenges that normal teenagers face in the real world. That’s what I like about books now. I can relate with my own experiences. In the book the Trackers got tricked by Lazlo to do something wrong that they would regret. Teenagers today are pressured into doing something that they will regret later in life. So overall the book is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Reading experience

I am currently on page 83 and a member of the Trackers has disappeared. Lewis has gone. The Trackers have proposed a meeting with Shantorian. While team leader Lazlo went to get Shantorian the cameras started to malfunction. The lights turned off. Then a bright light started to come down the driveway of the Trackers hideout. Then Emily ended up missing and that’s where I finished my reading for today. Every time I stop reading the book I am left wondering what will happen next. I can’t wait to see what will happen next. With all the cameras malfunctioning in the story and the lights going out, Shantorian had a diabolical plan for the Trackers. He is a master mind and he tricked them. The book is very interesting so far. I’m anxious to see how the story plays out. I like a lot of action packed books. The kinds of books that have action in every part of the book are very interesting to me. This book is nothing short of action packed. I want to see what the other books I am reading are like. Trackers is my first book on the list and its great so I am ready to read the other books on my list.
